About Dr JM Breytenbach
Dr. Breytenbach is a young, energetic female plastic surgeon with a special interest in Breast Surgery. She studied MBChB at the University of Stellenbosch and proceeded to complete her Internship and Community Service at Wits University. She enrolled in Radiology for a year but decided that she missed patient contact and clinical medicine and started specializing in General Surgery in 2013 at Wits University, where she moved on to specialize in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Sefako Makgatho University in 2015.
She completed her studies in May 2019 and opened a private practice in December 2019 at the Netcare Krugersdorp Hospital. She enjoys research and obtained her MMed research in breast surgery which she presented at the European Society of Aesthetic and Plastic Surgeons Congress in Cyprus in 2018. She has always been passionate about Breast Cancer patients and the collaboration with Dr. Docrat and Dr. Khan owed naturally, as all of these women believe in going the extra mile for patients.

I was involved in an accident mid-year of 2020. The wounds I obtained were rather severe to a point where a skin graft surgery was performed. While in hospital, Doctor Breytenbach would make sure that I go to theatre twice in a week to ensure that all is well and the skin graft surgery is healing well. Ek kan eerstehands van so ondervinding saam met Dr getuig, van die oomblik waar ek nuus kry dat my been geamputeer moet word, tot waar ek vandag loop met albei voete op die grond, danksy Dr se vermoë om nie optegee nie!
